The Lufkin High School "GO CENTER" was founded as the Career and College Center in 1992 made possible by Rufus Duncan. The GO CENTER is a college transition center. It is located on mainstreet of Lufkin High School in room W117. It is open from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. daily unless posted otherwise.
Students can use the GO CENTER to:
- Explore careers and take career interest assessments
- Register for SAT or ACT tests online
- Investigate and explore careers
- Complete college applications online
- Research and apply for scholarships
- Complete financial aid forms - FAFSA
- Conduct job searches
Group Announcements 2010 LHS Alumni ScholarshipSee below: Scholarship for application, list of scholarships, and recommendation forms to be printed and completed. Due date February 19, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in College Go Center.
1. Complete application and have counselor complete "Counselor box" before you make copies. 2. A complete application is: application with picture, essay, resume, 2 letters of recommendation and any additional short essay, etc. as noted. 3. Return to College Go Center in large brown envelope with: List of Scholarships showing which scholarships chosen, complete application with name of scholarship in right hand corner. 4. A complete application is required for each checked scholarlship 5. Email L.
